Dear Friends and Family

Well it kicked off this week, and Saturday we will be there to broadcast live, from Columbus, it’s the Ohio State Fair. We will be with the Ohio Farm Bureau to discuss everything that is growing in Wood and Lucas County, corn, wheat, and soy beans.

Feature guests will include, Fair Director, Virgil Strickler to welcome everyone to the Fair, from the Farm Bureau Cara Lawson, Keith Stimpert to talk about the Animal Care Board we all voted on last November in Ohio and their work so far on animal care in Ohio.

Coming up this Saturday A Firm Foundation stays indoors again with a live broadcast from the Carter Design Center on Reynolds Road in Toledo.

Kelly Trevino will join us to discuss the choices and options used in new kitchens in recently completed homes at Slipper Elm Hollow. *See the previous blog post for pictures of the kitchens.

Also, Chris Pflegghaar from Andersen Windows will be there to discuss energy saving replacement windows and all the features at reasonable prices.

Have you ever thought about having a wind turbine or solar panels at your house? Many people in N.W. Ohio are adding wind power to their choice of options to power their homes. Add some wind power and some solar panels along with a geo-thermal system and you are nearly running your house for free.. . .

Starks, Green by Design on St. Rt. 25 just south of Perrysburg is the site of this weeks A Firm Foundation. Our feature guest will be Chris Downey the sales manager and resident know-it-all along with Amy Starks interior designer will bring you all the information.

Starks is going to have an open house along with the show, so stop by and see everything for yourself! Open house lasts till 1:00 pm. Just look for the wind turbine on the west side of St. Rt. 25.

As we enjoy the middle summer weeks, A Firm Foundation prepares for another summer festival, the Lagrange Street Polish Festival, A Firm Foundation will broadcast live this Saturday at 9:00 am. on AM1470 Ticket to your Community. For your convenience the show is podcast beginning at noon.

This annual street festival attracts over 25,000 visitors and runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We have a full list of guests to join us on Saturday, much of the discussion will focus on the work done in this Toledo neighborhood’s “Quality of Life Plan”. This plan is an example of the neighbors helping themselves where they live! Tune in to hear all about it!
