Dear Friends and Family,
Mayor Mike Bell has been in office in Toledo now for just over a year. During that time he has accomplished the following:
- balanced a budget deficit and worked on a new plan for collecting the trash
- worked on the merger of Toledo and Ottawa Hills fire departments, part of a new strategy of regionalism
- Mike and the administration are looking to take care of Toledo’s aging infrastructure, similar to what many homeowners have done through lean years, putting off needed repairs and replacement.
- Finally, what may turn out to be a new direction of investment and development in Toledo, Mayor Bell has contracted to sell the “Docks” commercial establishment, and possibly the Marina District. These areas of Toledo have lagged through years of commercial promises and hopes, and now through Mayor Bell’s leadership, a group is involved that can interject new capital and ideas into these projects.
