This week’s show – Blood Analysis Program

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

The last Saturday in April, A Firm Foundation will be live at Wood County Hospital for the 7th Annual Blood Analysis Program, sponsored by the Hospital and the Bowling Green Chamber.

Jackie has volunteered to have her blood analyzed, I just had mine done 2 months ago. One important thing about blood tests is getting that baseline test at about age 40 and then having blood tests periodically about once a year, and comparing the results over time. It’s important too, to have the tests done at the same lab, and the same time of day, with the same preparation before the test. Much of the program will be discussing diabetes, we had not understood fully the serious of diabetes until we prepared for this show.

Also we will be joined after 10:00 am. by Stan Korducki, Hospital Administrator with a Wood County Hospital update on the 60th anniversary of Wood County Hospital.

A Firm Foundation kicks off at 9:00 am. on AM1470, a podcast is available for your convenience at 11:00 am. at: www.1065theticket.com.

Pocos update: It’s done! Official ribbon cutting this Thursday May 5, at 11:00 am. All are welcome to attend!

This week’s show – Pancakes and Trains!

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

This Saturday is spring Kiwanis Pancake Day at Bowling Green High School. A Firm Foundation will be there live as usual with a great lineup of guests and information. Feature guest will be Wade Gottschalk, Asst. Director of the Wood County Economic Development Commission.

Most of our time with Wade will focus on the best economic news in over 25 years for this area, the new CSX Intermodel facility in N. Baltimore. This is not a dream it is done, and in limited operation, but what a future, the National Gateway project, and this facility is 4 times larger than any other CSX facility of this kind in the U.S. N. Baltimore has been designated as an inland port, and 1 train equals 280 semi trucks, so this is the future of shipping goods in and out of the Midwest. Within a few years additional employment could be 3000!

Also on the program will be Wood County Commissioner, Tim Brown and our 5th District Congressman Bob Latta.

Tune in at 9:00 am. to AM1470 the Ticket, the show will be podcast for your convenience beginning at 11:00 am. at: www.1065theticket.com.
