This week’s show – Toledo Sail & Power Squadron

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

Rain, rain, go away! Dear Friends and Family, only one more week till Memorial Day weekend and we have had the heat on in the house nearly everyday! This Saturday A Firm Foundation broadcasts live from the W.W. Knight Preserve in Perrysburg. Believe it or not it’s the official kick off of the boating season in N.W. Ohio, and we are joining the Toledo Sail and Power Squadron for their annual educational seminar at the Knight Preserve.

With rain everyday this week it’s hard to get into the spirit, but when it gets here watch out, hot temps immediately? For those with crawl spaces I have not yet gotten in any crawl spaces, and we are two weeks past the usual time for this home maintenance job, but with temps in the 40’s and most people still heating I have let this job go. Don’t worry a week or two will not hurt a thing. Don’t forget to change your furnace filter soon, for the upcoming cooling season? For us that’s near July.

A Firm Foundation starts Saturday at 9:00 am. live on AM1470 WLQR, and podcast at 11:00 am. at 1065theticket.com, look for the yellow podcast cube. . .

This week’s show – Time to paint!

Friday, May 13th, 2011

We are already at the middle of May and on A Firm Foundation that means the beginning of the outdoor painting season. Things are going to dry out so we can get to all the areas of our homes that need that freshen-up coat of paint.

Saturday at 9:00 am. A Firm Foundation will be live from the Bowling Green Sherwin Williams store, however Sherwin Williams has 30 store in N.W. Ohio, so there is a Sherwin Williams store in your neighborhood.

At our recently completed Pocos Playhouse doggie day care facility we used several specialty coatings mostly epoxy paints to waterproof, (peeproof) materials where the dogs might have an accident. In the restrooms Jackie used several decorative paints and there is a TV video of this bathroom on our website: go to the “Videos” and “more decorating ideas”.

A Firm Foundation is heard every Saturday at 9:00 am on AM1470 WLQR, and a podcast of each show is available at 11:00 am. at: www.1065theticket.com.
