This Saturday on A Firm Foundation is a show about safety for the holidays. Safety in the home, and out and about. Joining us in person for the first time, the new Lucas County Sheriff John Tharp. What show about these topics would be complete without Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn? The two Sheriffs together will give us a complete look at crime in the area and how to protect you and your family.

Both Sheriffs will be live with us from St. Julians Fitness Center at Levis Commons in Perrysburg, and will begin at 9:00 am. . . and can be heard locally on AM1470 WLQR.

Where were you this Thanksgiving? Rick and Jackie were at the Wood County Senior Center where they served over 80 individuals a delicious meal — and Rick was still able to wear his favorite “Turkey Day” pants — year number 36 (1976 to 2012!) Check out the photo with his Mom!

As I write you I just finished mowing the grass for the last time this year, and Thanksgiving is only 1 week from today. With that in mind we have planned a show this Saturday that will feature lots of information about Thanksgiving to help you!

Joining us first up, about 9:05 will be Certified Personal Trainer, Pam Bettinger, about 9:30 will be Susan Zies O.S.U. Extension officier talking about Thanksgiving foods and weight maintenance, and then right after 10:00 am. we are going to talk turkey, with Mary Clingman, from Butterball, with Turkey 101, from purchase, to preparation to safety.

After we return from the gym we will be ready to eat! Let N.W. Ohio’s most trusted hosts, make your Thanksgiving holiday the best ever, eat all you want and not gain any weight!

It happens this Saturday at Bowling Green H. S. Kiwanis Pancake Day, and 3 days later the biggest election of our lifetime! Expect N. W. Ohio’s most trusted hosts to have a big event before the election and that’s what we have, for the first time, a live political debate.

Joining us in the second hour at 10:00 am. will be current Wood County Commissioner, Joel Kuhlman and Doris Herringshaw, Republican challenger, so this will be a fair and balanced debate.

Kicking off the show at 9:00 am. will be a series of people up for re-election, including, Bob Latta, Randy Gardner, Tim Brown, Jim Carter, and who knows who else may be there? Two years ago the Speaker of the House, John Boehner was there for breakfast.

Strange things happen

As you know yesterday was Halloween and strange things happen around Halloween, the President surprised everyone and this Bob Latta event. It appears that the President is supporting Bob Latta too, at least he was carrying a Bob Latta sign.
