This week’s show – What happened in Texas?

Friday, May 24th, 2013

This Saturday Memorial Day weekend 2013, A Firm Foundation will once again be with our friends at Central Joint Fire District for their 6th Memorial Day Run for M.S.  Much of our discussion will focus on “first responders” and the hazards of charging into a burning building much like happened in Texas just last month where 13 volunteer firefighters lost their lives.

There are several hazardous facilities in the Central Joint district, so we can hear about pre-planning for such an event.  Also with I-75 and CSX an unexpected event could happen anytime.

Sean Brennan from Jim Palmer Excavating will join us during the middle part of the show to talk about liability in excavating, there are lots of things underground anymore. Plus topsoil, how’s your dirt?

The show starts at 9:00 am. on AM 1470 WLQR, and is streamed live at www.talkradio1470.com. A podcast is available Monday at the same website.

This week’s show – Every year it happens!

Friday, May 17th, 2013

Sad to report that already this year in N. W. Ohio’s there were two tragic drownings from a boating accident. In this case, a father and his 12 year old daughter, as in nearly 100% of the deaths from boating accidents, neither victim wearing a PFD. Imagine going kayaking in April in Lake Erie and not wearing a PFD?

This Saturday on A Firm Foundation Radio show, Rick and Jackie will once again be with the Toledo Power Squadron,  a group of concerned seamen and boaters that have spent much of their life promoting safe boating. We are pleased to bring you Saturday’s show from the Toledo Maritime Academy a Charter School in Toledo that trains young people for careers on the water.  The Toledo Maritime Academy is hosting an open house with events on Saturday during the day for the public.

The show begins at 9:00 am. on AM1470 WLQR and can be hear around the world at: www.talkradio1470.com and also on I-Heart radio.   A podcast of the show is available at the same website!

Two common problems many people suffer from.  This Saturday hear about both on A Firm Foundation with N. W. OHio’s most trusted hosts as they welcome to the studio,  Dr. Ron Negrich,  the senior allergist in N. W. Ohio, with 4 offices around the region. As spring allergy season is in full swing find out the treatments available today, since there are many new treatments on the market.

And in hour #2 Dr. Peter McGowan, family dentistry, the master of the mouth, and the dentist that engineered the fine Invisalign job on Rick just a few months ago. Only in recent years did people learn that their teeth are supposed to last their entire life, and with proper care that’s exactly what to expect. Let Dr. McGowan guide us through the years of care to achieve that goal!
