This week’s show – It’s time for Kiwanis Pancake Day!

This Saturday is Kiwanis Pancake Day again at Bowling Green H.S. Northwest Ohio’s most trusted hosts will be joining in on the food and fun as usual with a great line-up of guests as always, from politicians to celebrities, sometimes getting a straight answer can be difficult, but let Rick and Jackie sort it all out for you beginning at 9:00 am. heard locally on AM1470 WLQR, and streamed live world-wide at www.talkradio1470.com.

Tonight was the Volunteer Appreciation banquet for all the volunteers, over 200, for the Wood County Committee on Aging. The event was held at Penta Career Center and the dinner was prepared and served by the Penta culinary students. Here is a picture of the students being introduced to the group and appreciation expressed for their outstanding food and presentation. We at A Firm Foundation salute the great education and work being done at Penta Career Center.

The Kiwanis Pancake breakfast will be served from 7:00 am. to 1:00 pm. . . cost is $6 for adults, ALL you can eat! Stop by and see the show live!

A week filled with snow, wind and more record cold, progress was still achieved on the job site, here is the foundation for the new house at 608 Jacqueline with basement and garage floors done, foundation insulation and stone, j-channel for foundation siding, and escape well for basement window installed. All done this week in spite of trying conditions.

Coming up this Saturday April 19th, N. W. Ohio’s most trusted hosts travel to the Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons to take part in the Expo, “Want Woman Want”, ofcourse Rick & Jackie know the answer to that question. The feature guest on the program, is Dr. Michael Carrol, Director for the B.G.S.U. Center for Regional Development. Monday Dr. Carrol’s State of the Region Conference, and he will recap the information with Rick and Jackie.

Rick and Jackie will also preview the Expo at the Hilton which runs from 10:00 to 4:00. The radio program is from 9:00 to 11:00 am. and can be heard locally on AM1470 WLQR, or streamed at www.talkradio1470.com.

Additionally, about 11:30 Rick and Jackie will present live on stage, “Going Green at Home” real ideas that save you $$$ at home!

This Saturday promises to be a full day at the Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons!

A new month, maybe better weather? but an important show this Saturday!

This Saturday N. W. Ohio’s most trusted hosts tackle a difficult subject on A Firm Foundation, cancer. Probably the most dreaded diagnosis anyone can get in their lifetime, but who in our audience hasn’t known someone with cancer?

There is good news to present, 50% of all people diagnosed with cancer today, actually get cured! Joining us live on Saturday with be new Bowling Green resident Dr. Robert Lavey Cancer Care Center radiation oncologist and medical director. Dr. Lavey brings over 25 years of experience to Wood County Hospital from several university cancer centers in the U.S. Dr. Lavey graduated magna cum laude from Harvard, earned his Doctor of Medicine from Stanford, completed his residency in radiation oncology at Duke, did Postdoctoral Fellowships at U.C. Berkeley, was a professor at UCLA, USC, USF, and is a Senior Member of the H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center.

Dr. Lavey has been the coordinator of 12 internationally conducted clinical trials, he has written over 40 scientific articles, and over 20 chapters in oncology textbooks. He has been a lecturer at international oncology meetings in the U.S. Canada, Europe, S. America, and Asia, and this Saturday he will be on with Rick and Jackie!

This program will explore all cancers in depth along with the treatments available in the new state-of-the-art, Cancer Care Center at Wood County Hospital. Don’t miss this program!
