Almost 10 years in the making

Thursday, March 23rd, 2017

This week marked a real milestone in the history of Rick’s construction work in Bowling Green,  the completion of Slippery Elm Hollow Development.   Pictured in the attached photo is the ribbon cutting ceremony on September 8,  2007 with Wood County Commissioners Jim Carter and Alvie Perkins,  along with Bowling Green Mayor John Quinn.  This ribbon cutting was for the new street,  (Jacqueline Place),  with direct access to the Slippery Elm Bike Trail,  the first such access granted to a subdivision.    Just a side note Alvie Perkins was at the groundbreaking for all 4 of Rick’s housing developments in Bowling Green,  since 1979.

And now this Saturday on A Firm Foundation for Life Rick and Jackie become the first couple to receive Invisalign teeth braces from Dr. Peter McGowan,  Toledo’s friendliest dentist.   No matter your age,  taking care of your teeth is a top health priority,  and when teeth are properly taken care of,  they last your entire life,  no matter how old!    Miracle procedures today like implants can solve virtually any dental issue and keeping a person from needing false teeth. False teeth are like trying to run a marathon on a wooden leg!

The program starts promptly at 9:00 am. .   on AM1370 WSPD,  or is streamed live at:   wspd.com  and can be heard conveniently and remotely on I-Heart radio with the I-Heart radio free app.

Drywall, it’s all about quality

Saturday, March 18th, 2017

It’s time to talk about drywall,  one of the most visible parts of your home,   it’s what everyone sees,  your walls!   Joining with N. W. Ohio’s most trusted hosts,  the area’s best and most experienced drywall company,  Richard’s Drywall,  owner Dave Richards.   It’s in his blood,  like father,  like son,  very few have made a good living at this work,  but when you are best,  everyone wants you in their house!   And it’s not just the drywall contractor,  it’s also the products,  only USG will do for our company and Richard’s Drywall,  all drywall is not equal!

The program starts at 9:00 am.  live on  1370 WSPD,  or streamed live on the internet at:  wspd.com  and can be heard remotely on I-Heart Radio,  just download the free app for I-Heart.

Carpet is going into the new,  and last house 601 Jacqueline Place at Slippery Elm Hollow,  completion just a few days from now,  attached two pictures in the great room just off the kitchen.   And of course,  Richard’s Drywall did all the drywall work in this house!

Homeward bound

Heading for Home!

We are winding up construction on the last home in SEH,  601 Jacqueline Place.   Nine years ago when the Great Recession happened we didn’t know if the last plat on Jacqueline Place would ever get completed,  and here we are just a few days till completion,  occupancy on March 25.  See the attached picture just before the carpet.

In another sense,  “headed for home” will be the topic on A Firm Foundation for Life this Saturday.    Jeff Pettit,  the Caveman,  this area’s only Certified Memorialist joins Rick and Jackie live in studio.   Granite is the product of choice in Jeff’s work,  and granite lasts “forever”  well no one really knows?   But on a serious point today’s world of genealogy has become so popular you could help your descendants understand their heritage for many centuries into the future.  Tune in at 9:00 am. to hear about Jeff’s work,  on 1370 WSPD & 92.9 fm.   streamed live at:  <wspd.com>  and remotely on I-Heart radio.

A remodel job, along with new construction

Friday, March 3rd, 2017

March comes in like a lion!

Already a new month on A Firm Foundation for Life,  and we are pleased to welcome to the program for the first time John Rapp,  principle at Royalty,  Mooney, and Moses, this area’s premier insulation contractor,  along with selling and installing several other specialty products for the home.  Royalty M & M provides all the Energy Star insulation requirements in all of Rick’s new homes.   Air infiltration,  blower door tests,  calk & foam,  R-19 wall insulation all part of todays modern home energy envelope.   Surprising to most people however, is that many of these modern insulation products, and techniques can be added to an existing home even though your home might not be that old?

The program starts at 9:00 am.  can be heard locally on 1370 WSPD,  is streamed live at:  <wspd.com> and remotely on I-Heart radio.   The I-Heart radio app. is growing more and more in use by people of all ages, download the free app to your remote device.
