This week’s show – Kicking off year 13!

Friday, January 6th, 2012

This Saturday January 7, 2012 A Firm Foundation kicks off another year on the radio. By February we will begin our 13th year on local talk radio.

We kick off at Genoa Bank branch in Perrysburg, joining us will be Mark Carr, and others to talk about $$$$. In the feature segment will be Gary Rieman, owner of Rieman Construction. Gary is a professional remodeler and we are going to talk about a variety of home improvements you may want to consider, if your house needs some updating.

Specifically with our friends from Genoa Bank we are going to talk about having good credit. What is it? Just a credit score or a whole lot more? How do you improve your credit history?

The show starts at 9:00 am. live on AM1470 WLQR, the Ticket.

For your convenience a podcast can be heard after 11:00 am. at www.1065theticket.com.

This week’s show – ’twas the week before Christmas…

Friday, December 16th, 2011

This is our last radio show of 2011, no show on Christmas or New Year’s Eve, so we needed to make this show count triple, and we think we have.

We have 5 great Toledo Charities that are going to check in with us starting with Dan Rogers from Cherry Street Mission, Mindy from Seagate Foodbank, Jason Copsey from the Red Cross, Bill Kitson from United Way and Steven Lopes from the Salvation Army.

You will hear first hand the services these groups are providing for Christmas, and throughout the whole year. Plus if you are so inclined during the next few weeks how you can get involved with the work that you would like to support!

The show starts at 9:00 am on AM 1470 WLQR, a podcast will be available after 11:00 am. at www.1065theticket.com.

This week’s show – House of Color

Friday, September 30th, 2011

Look around your house right now, how would new floor coverings look for the holidays? Have you seen all the new carpet patterns and colors now available. What about ceramic tile for the kitchen instead of that old worn out linoleum? How about custom heating under that new ceramic tile floor, talk about cushy?

Saturday hear all about it, on A Firm Foundation as we join Sharon Miles in her 1-year old new store in Findlay beginning at 9:00 am. on AM1470 WLQR. For your convenience a podcast is available after 11:00 am. at www.1065theticket.com.

Think about this, when you have remodeling done in your house, strangers are there for several days, maybe you are not home while they are there working? Better have a company you can trust, like House of Color.

A great day!

A new future was set in motion today for Wood County and the State of Ohio! A project that will have that kind of positive impact for the future, 50 to 100 years, opened their doors to the public, the new CSX Intermodal hub in N. Baltimore.

Here is a picture of Jackie in front of the Yard Dog that moves the containers around the yard!

This week’s show – Let it snow!

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

Dear Friends and Family,

When do you think we will get our first snowfall? We are well past the usual date of November 12 for this area! This Saturday, A Firm Foundation will be talking snow removal in Toledo. Ed Moore, Director of Roads, Harbors, and Bridges will join us live in the studio to talk about the snow removal plan in Toledo. No job in government brings more complaints than snow removal, be it a homeowners association, apartment complex, or a city. With resources becoming more and more limited, it’s important for people to revise their expectations of what can be done during a major storm, remember the Blizzard of ‘78?

The show begins at 9:00 a.m. on AM1470, “Ticket to your community“, the podcast of this show for your convenience can be heard beginning anytime after 11:00 a.m. at: www.1065theticket.com

Be sure to check below for the latest pictures of Jarret Horning, born November 13th.

This week’s show – 4/10

Friday, April 9th, 2010

It’s springtime in Augusta,  as I write you today, our generation is again excited and encouraged by 60 year old Tom Watson’s impressive 67 in the first round of the Masters.  Many of us that competed against Tom Watson in those college years back in the ‘70’s were broken hearted when he lost the British Open last summer at Turnberry.

Tune into AM1470 for a full Masters report, also during this program we will reconnect with our senior economic consultant from New Jersey and Fox News contributor, Patricia Powell, owner of Powell Investment Group not far from New York City.   Patricia will appear later on Saturday at about  4:30 pm. on Fox News Channel.

A Firm Foundation begins at 9:00 am. and a podcast can be heard after the show at:  www.1065theticket.com/audiovault.  Don’t miss this one!
